Wi-Fi (/ˈwaɪfaɪ/) is technology for radio wireless local area networking of devices based on the IEEE 802.11 standards. Wi‑Fi is a trademark of the Wi-Fi Alliance, which restricts the use of the term Wi-Fi Certified to products that successfully complete interoperability certification testing.

Wi-Fi Alliance introduces new User Interface (UI) visuals to identify Wi-Fi generations for network connections. UI visuals may be used on a Wi-Fi device’s display, and are intended for use by device manufacturers and OS vendors, whether members or non-members of Wi-Fi Alliance.
